Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)
The MPFSL is looking for focused individuals with a strong academic background in science or technology.
- Educational Foundation: To qualify as a Laboratory Technician, you must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (B.Sc.), Forensic Science, Computer Science, or Computer Application from a recognized university.
- Age Limit: You should be between 18 and 40 years old (as of Jan 1, 2026). If you are a female candidate or belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) in Madhya Pradesh, the upper age limit is relaxed up to 45 years.
- Fees: In a move to support all aspirants, there is no application fee for any category of candidates.
Your Path to the Lab: Selection Process
Unlike many other government exams, this process begins with an academic filter to ensure high quality.
- Stage 1: Academic Shortlisting: For the 35 Technician posts, the top 175 candidates (a 1:5 ratio) will be shortlisted based on their graduation marks.
- Stage 2: Written Examination: Shortlisted candidates will sit for a 100-mark objective test.
- General Science (80 Marks): Testing your core technical knowledge.
- General Knowledge (20 Marks): Covering state-specific and national awareness.
- Final Merit: Your rank in the written exam will determine your final selection. There is no negative marking, so accuracy and speed are your best friends.
